A Sydney-exclusive, Ron Mueck: Encounter marks the artist’s most significant solo exhibition in Australia in over a decade, and his first in Sydney since 2003.

Experience a day where the familiar road from Bathurst opens into a world of giant figures, hushed galleries and unforgettable detail.

On this Ron Mueck Exhibition tour to the Art Gallery of New South Wales, you will travel by comfortable Coaster to encounter sculptures that feel startlingly real yet quietly dreamlike, each one inviting you to pause, circle, and see what it stirs in you. From small, intimate scenes to towering forms that fill the room, Mueck’s work explores life’s big moments with a tenderness that lingers long after you leave the gallery.

During your visit, take a detour to visit the monumental Ngurrara Canvas II, created by around 40 Ngurrara artists-claimants in 1997 to support a native title claim over areas of the Great Sandy Desert. It is part of 25th Biennale of Sydney: Rememory held in the Naala Nura building next door.
