The Story of Bathurst Art Competition results

David Young's winning entry to The Story of Bathurst art competition.

Bathurst Heritage Matters in partnership with BRAGS had hoped for more submissions but are grateful to announce winners for two out of the 14 themes available. No acquisition prize was awarded.

Results were announced during the exhibition opening of A Tear in the Fabric at the Art Gallery on 19 September 2025.

Samantha Larnarch's entry Bolters for Theme #5 Convict Bolters and Bushrangers is the story of the early colonial establishment of justice dealing with convict bolters and bushrangers in the Bathurst district.

David Young's entry Lest We Forget for Theme #12 In Memory of the Fallen is his interpretation of the epic poem “for the fallen" through a pictorial representation of the story of sacrifice and subsequent commemoration of the fallen in all wars and conflicts to date.
