Summer Cocktails and Raffle Results

Good atmosphere, good food, and good company.
That was how the Summer Cocktails event was described by many who attended.
Uplifted by the sounds of Gwenda Davies' harp, our Society's first event of the year hosted sixty-five members and friends at Norma Joan Bar and Eatery. The event raised about $3,000 from our community to continue our task of supporting the vitally important Bathurst Regional Art Gallery.
Friends, both present and absent, purchased raffle tickets for prizes so generously donated by artists, local businesses, and private citizens.
Bathurst has a rich and enduring history as a home to art and artists, stretching back to our First Nations heritage. Art and Culture provide an identity of the community and is a catalyst for social change. It also drives the economy, as galleries and museums attract tourism, generate revenue, and create jobs.
According to the NSW Government, cultural tourism is currently worth $4.0 Billion to the Central West and directly employs 3,500 people full-time.
Attendance at our Society’s events can be part of this story.
Winners of the eleven raffle prizes were Ross Chapman, Lanny McKenzie, June Golland, Jo Schofield, Jodi McGuinness, Kay Nankervis, Bruce Andrew, Jodie McConaghy, Peter Conden, Maxine Milles, and Julie M.
