Get ready for August Activities

It was a warm, welcoming, intimate gathering of Society members and friends at the Bathurst Grange Distillery to listen to beautiful harp music by Bethany Carter-Sherlock, and artist Graham Lupp sharing his journey from architecture into art. The main raffle prize of a framed limited edition print of Hampton Evening donated by Graham Lupp was won by new member Steve Garman, while the single ticket to the 2026 Primavera Gala Dinner and Art Auction was won by Viv Llewellyn. Volunteer Gallery Guide and Society member Dianne Thurling won the lucky door prize donated by the Grange Distillery of a Dinner for Four voucher for the Grange Kitchen. Distillery produce of gin, whisky, and other alcoholic beverages, including the boozy hot chocolate made with the Grange Distillery’s Sugar and Spice Whisky was sampled by those who attended.

Now that July is nearing its end, it is time to look ahead as we are about to enter the month of August.

Join Part 3 of Talks & Tea with volunteer gallery guides to look behind the stories of the Female Factory in the current exhibition 'The Fragility of Goodness' by Elizabeth Day. Then a day trip to view the Archibald exhibition at AGNSW Sydney with Bathurst Tours.

Nicole Welch: A Mid-Career Survey curated by Richard Perram OAM.

Transformations: Image, Time & Landscape surveys 27 years of work by Hill End-based artist Nicole Welch. Throughout her career and across mediums, the artist’s work is rich with symbolism, tension, and transformation and explores the relationships between landscape, the body, time, and memory.

Welch creates works that are at once visually beautiful and conceptually challenging.

FOYER GALLERY: Five decades: studies in realism

Five decades presents a small survey of personal work and invites us into the private collection of local artist Graham Lupp, providing a unique glimpse of studies made during formative moments and experiences of the artist’s life. The exhibition offers a beautiful journey of reflection, retrospection and poignant perspectives, celebrating vulnerability and wisdom across five decades of practice.

Realism has always been central to Lupp’s work, starting in the 70s as an art student in London and has evolved through the years as playful encounters.
